Abe George

Abe George is a New York trial attorney and former prosecutor with more than two decades of experience inside and outside the criminal justice system, focusing his practice on civil rights litigation, criminal defense, and constitutional law.

As an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, Abe prosecuted violent crimes, gang and narcotics offenses, firearms cases, and homicide investigations before entering private practice and launching a campaign for Brooklyn District Attorney. Running on a platform of criminal justice reform and police accountability, Abe ultimately joined forces with Ken Thompson in the historic campaign that defeated 24-year incumbent Charles J. Hynes — the first successful challenge to a sitting Brooklyn District Attorney in more than a century. Abe later served on District Attorney Thompson's transition team before being appointed Deputy Bureau Chief of the Major Narcotics Investigative Bureau in the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.

Today, Abe represents clients in state and federal courts in matters involving police misconduct, false arrest, malicious prosecution, excessive force, unlawful searches and seizures, wrongful convictions, and other constitutional violations, while also defending individuals facing serious criminal charges. He has recovered millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for victims of police misconduct and other constitutional violations.
